The Seattle Seahawks 2023 schedule was announced this evening by the National Football League. It features three prime-time games, two on Thursday and one on Monday, and four 10a.m. starts. This season, NFC teams play nine road games, as the two conferences alternate the extra road game since the 17-game schedule was introduced in 2021.
Aiming to return to the postseason for the 11th time in 14 seasons during John Schneider and Pete Carroll’s tenure, the Seahawks will play seven games against 2022 playoff teams, with home games vs. Super Bowl LVII runner-up Philadelphia Eagles and NFC title game participant San Francisco.
Opening at home for the second-consecutive year, and the ninth time since the 2000 season, Seattle begins division play in Week 1 for the first time since 2015 when it hosts the L.A. Rams (9/10). Seattle travels to Detroit (9/17) for its first of four 10 a.m. kickoff starts in Week 2. The Seahawks are 22-9 in their last thirty-one 10a.m. games and have won 14 of their last 17 early kickoffs since 2018.
The Carolina Panthers visit Lumen Field in Week 3 (9/24). It will be the 12th meeting with Carolina, including postseason, since the 2010 season, before Seattle heads east to face the N.Y. Giants (10/2) in its lone appearance on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks are an NFL-best 28-12 on Monday nights and hold a 33-14-1 prime-time record since 2010.
Following a Week 5 bye (10/8),its earliest since the 2016 season, the Seahawks travel to Cincinnati (10/15),then enjoy back-to-back home games for the only time in 2023 with Arizona (10/22)and Cleveland (10/29) visiting Seattle.
Seattle then plays two of the next three games on the road; traveling to Baltimore (11/5), home vs. Washington(11/12), and at the L.A. Rams (11/19).
The Seahawks play at home on Thanksgiving for the first time in franchise history as they host San Francisco (11/23) at 5:20 p.m. Seattle is 2-2 on the holiday, winning its last game,19-3, at San Francisco in 2014.
Finishing the season with four of its last six games on the road, Seattle again plays on Thursday, this at Dallas (11/30), followed by a long break before traveling to the Bay Area and facing the 49ers (12/10) for the second time in three weeks.
The team alternates home-away games for the remaining schedule; vs. Philadelphia (12/17), at Tennessee on Christmas Eve, vs. Pittsburgh on New Year’s Eve and at Arizona, with the day and time to be announced by the NFL at the conclusion of Week 17.
